Saudi boxing chief outlines full schedule including Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua plans after criticism
Turki Alalshikh has confirmed a 2026 boxing schedule featuring Tyson Fury, Oleksandr Usyk, Canelo Alvarez and Anthony Joshua after responding to criticism over activity. The plan includes confirmed dates, multiple headline fights and further events set for the second half of the year.
The exchange started with a post from Michael Woods questioning the pace of events. Alalshikh responded directly, pointing to what has already taken place and what is scheduled next.
“Yes, I am very busy with other stuff,” he wrote. “Thank God my country is safe and we are happy, even when we are close to war. Thank you for asking. Missile and drones coming to my country each day.”
He then listed the events already delivered in 2026.
“And to prove your point that I am too busy and not interested in boxing anymore, we just did Shakur-Teo, the biggest fight in MSG history, Garcia-Barrios in Vegas, one of the biggest fights this year.”
The upcoming calendar includes Tyson Fury against Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11 in London, with Conor Benn facing Regis Prograis on the same card. Oleksandr Usyk is scheduled to face Rico Verhoeven on May 23 in Giza, Egypt.
Alalshikh made clear the schedule extends well beyond those events.
“Next week I will be in London for the legend Tyson Fury vs. Makhmudov at Tottenham Stadium. And we have Usyk-Rico heavyweight title fight at the Pyramids. And that’s just the first half of 2026.”
He also confirmed plans already in motion for the second half of the year.
“We are finalizing Canelo in Riyadh Season for September, planning to do two fights for Joshua, another for Tyson and another for Garcia in the second half.”
He closed with a direct line addressing the criticism.
“This is my schedule this year when I am busy and not interesting imagine if I not.”
Canelo has not fought since his loss to Terence Crawford last September, while Anthony Joshua is coming off a knockout win over Jake Paul in December.
