Floyd Mayweather will face Manny Pacquiao in a sanctioned professional rematch on September 19, 2026 at Sphere in Las Vegas. Netflix will stream the fight globally to its subscribers, marking Mayweather’s return from retirement into an officially licensed contest.
Mayweather, 50-0 with 27 knockouts, steps back into a regulated bout after years of exhibitions. Pacquiao, 62-8-3 with 39 knockouts, returns to the rivalry that defined a generation of welterweights. Their 2015 meeting produced 4.6 million pay-per-view buys and a $72 million live gate at MGM Grand Garden Arena. This time the distribution model changes. No pay-per-view. Direct global stream.
Their first fight turned on distance management and the straight right hand. Mayweather kept his lead shoulder tight, stepped outside Pacquiao’s southpaw jab, and chose his moments with the right. Pacquiao had trouble closing distance without running into counters.
At this stage, footwork and workrate take on added importance. Pacquiao has always depended on angles, quick entries, and combinations off the left hand. Mayweather’s approach centers on timing, defensive reads, and drawing opponents into reaching so he can answer clean.

Twelve licensed rounds require full medical clearance, commission approval, and testing protocols.
From a belt standpoint, no title has been attached. There is no eliminator status tied to the bout. The sanctioning bodies have not announced rankings implications. This is a major event, not a mandatory path.
Pacquiao said, “Floyd and I gave the world what remains the biggest fight in boxing history. The fans have waited long enough—they deserve this rematch, and it will be even bigger now that it will be streamed live globally on Netflix. I want Floyd to live with the one loss on his professional record and always remember who gave it to him.”
Mayweather responded, “I already fought and beat Manny once. This time will be the same result.”
Sphere becomes the first venue of its kind to host a professional boxing match. Production scale will be different. The fundamentals inside the ropes remain the same.
