Fighters say DAZN–Top Rank deal will lead to more fights and faster matchmaking

DAZN and Top Rank have agreed to a multi-year deal that brings fights under one platform. Keyshawn Davis and other fighters say it will increase activity and speed up matchmaking.

Davis made it clear the move did not come as a surprise once the direction became obvious.

“I was definitely surprised hearing this announcement. DAZN’s been carrying the torch for a while now,” Davis said. “They’ve been putting on major events, and now I feel that the whole world is starting to realize that.”

The deal was confirmed at a press conference in New York, where fighters and executives pointed to activity and exposure as the immediate benefits. With more fighters aligned under the same outlet, negotiations shorten and cards can be built without broadcast conflicts.

Abdullah Mason pointed directly to activity and opportunity.

“The strides we’ve been making since I turned pro, being the brightest young star in boxing, I feel like we can do the same thing with DAZN,” Mason said. “I’m bringing the smoke to DAZN and we’re going to have a lot of fun.”

Bruce Carrington linked the platform to visibility and progression.

“The amount of recognition that just boosted ever since that fight has been incredible,” Carrington said. “The fact that it was on DAZN, I think that played a major part.”

Emiliano Vargas kept it simple on what changes for fighters.

“This deal is going to give me a platform to shine on,” Vargas said. “There are no limits now.”

DAZN executives made their position clear. Bringing Top Rank into the same structure is aimed at removing the delays that have slowed fights across different networks.

“For us, it’s about making the best fights,” said Pete Oliver. “Fans have been frustrated over the years because different promoters have been with different broadcasters.”

Top Rank President Todd duBoef pointed to shared direction.

“We realized we were like-minded on how we want to present and grow the sport,” duBoef said.

With Top Rank now aligned alongside other promoters on DAZN, fighters will move through a schedule where matchups can be made quicker and more consistently.

The immediate impact is structural. More fighters on one platform means fewer barriers, tighter timelines, and a clearer route toward title fights.
