Unified belts on the line as Hanson challenges for first world title on ESPN card
Amanda Serrano (48-4-1, 31 KOs) defends her WBA and WBO featherweight titles against Cheyenne Hanson (17-2, 13 KOs) on May 30 in El Paso, headlining a four-title ESPN card. Hanson enters ranked by both bodies but steps into her first world title fight against an established champion at 126.
Desley Robinson (11-3, 4 KOs) defends her unified middleweight titles against Mary Spencer (10-3, 6 KOs), and Lourdes Juarez (39-4, 5 KOs) meets Yokasta Valle (34-3, 10 KOs) with the WBC junior flyweight title at stake.
The WBA and WBO have sanctioned Serrano’s defense.
Han and Holm carry a different kind of fight. Holm brings experience, footwork, and a disciplined approach off the back foot. Han will need to step in behind her jab, force exchanges, and make Holm work at a higher pace to take the belt.
Robinson defends at 160 with a physical style, working inside and putting shots together in close. Spencer matches that with strength and pressure, looking to turn it into a fight in tight and test Robinson’s gas tank over ten rounds.
Juarez vs Valle is the most balanced fight on the card. Juarez works behind steady combinations and stays composed over rounds. Valle moves up in weight, brings speed and ring IQ, and has the experience of winning belts across divisions. The winner leaves with real control at 108.
Serrano said, “I respect every opponent who steps in the ring, and I know Hanson is coming to win and she has KO power.”
Hanson said, “I’m really excited and grateful for this fight. It means a lot to be representing Germany on this stage.”
Mary Spencer made her position clear. “I didn’t come this far to admire champions. Respect yes. Admire no! I came to take everything they have.”
Lourdes Juarez added, “This will be a great war. I won’t give away my belt, no way.”
Yokasta Valle said, “Moving up in weight to challenge a champion for her title is exactly the kind of opportunity that motivates me.”
Four belts on the line, winners move into unification positions.
